Training Center


The range of tools for human rights monitoring has increased significantly over the past decade, particularly with the advancement of internet-based technology, offering human rights defenders new opportunities for making an impact.

Here you will find training materials, workshops, and tutorials on human rights monitoring, advocacy, and security to help you address challenges you may face and to shed light on human rights violations while remaining safe, credible and accurate. The training center is divided into 4 clusters:

  • Human Rights Monitoring: learn practical skills, principles and steps for successful human rights monitoring.

  • Safety and Security in Human Rights Work: discover how to protect yourself from digital and physical threats. Always stay safe!

  • Human Rights Communications: improve your communication and campaigning skills and make an impact. Get inspired by more than 15 unique instructional videos.

  • Open Source Investigation for Human Rights: learn how to investigate human rights violations using publicly available technology and online sources.
