QGIS is a free and open-source cross-platform desktop geographic information system (GIS) application that supports viewing, editing, and analysis of geospatial data on Windows, Mac, Linux, BSD and mobile devices. It  supports most geospatial vector and raster file types and database formats and the program offers standard GIS functionality, with a variety of mapping features and data editing.
